With a Home Automation System it is possible to combine different plant technologies (electrical installation, heating, air-conditioning, video surveillance, intrusion detection, video-intercom etc.) creating a unique and easy-to use-system that ensures convenience and energy saving. In addition to the traditional controls (used for the main functions), the Home Automation System can be managed with one or multiple touchscreen panels, placed at strategic points of the house, or by tablet or smartphone, even when you are away from home. The Home Automation System proposed by MARTINI S.r.l. is based on the worldwide certified KNX standard (KONNEX). One of the strengths of the KNX System is that all KNX-branded products are interchangeable, even if manufactured by different producers. This means it is easy to find the product that better suits the application requested, among all the different suppliers currently on the market. The customer does not need to settle for the features of a device proposed by a single firm, we will find the right brand and product to meet every single requirement.
In case of alarms, errors or failures of the system, you will be notified, even via e-mail, in case you are not home.
With a Home Automation System you have control over:
Lighting Management
Indoor and outdoor lighting of the house is managed, in addition to the use of traditional switches, through a touchscreen panel and mobile devices; in this way you can control the switch on/off, change the brightness and check the status of a single light spot and, in case of RGB spotlights, it is possible to change the light color from anywhere inside or outside the house. Add to all this the opportunity to manage advanced logics, such as the automatic switch of some light spots, according to a schedule planned by the user and the ability to automatically self-adjust brightness according to the ambient light condition.
Through the use of information coming from the alarm system, it is possible to automatically turn off the lights when the motion sensor does not detect the presence of people in a room for some time. It is also possible to simulate the presence of people inside the house by turning on/off some light spots. Another possibility provided by the Home Automation System is being able to change position and configuration of commands at any time, with no need to lay new electrical cables. This means you can easily move the command to switch on a certain light spot to another room.
Thermoregulation
The Home Automation System fully manages the thermoregulation of the house in an intelligent way and aimed at energy saving. A sensor that detects temperature and humidity is installed in every room in order to heat, air-condition or dehumidify the home-space only for the actual need and based on the time schedule established for that single zone/room. It is also possible to constantly monitor the temperature trend inside the premises thanks to graphs, with data stored in the historical ready to be used to make comparisons.
Technical monitoring of all generator parameters (heat pump, boiler), storage reservoirs and pumps is performed. You can monitor, for example, the temperature of water in the reservoir, the flow and return temperature of the heating system, the setpoint for domestic hot water and problems or generator failures, if any.
It is possible to have automatic management of a Controlled Mechanical Ventilation (VMC) that takes care of the exchange of air in the building.
Electricity Consumption
The consumption of every single stationary appliance, water and gas is monitored and, with the help of time-course graphs, you can keep consumption under control all the time and make a comparison with data from the previous months or years. In presence of a photovoltaic system, its energy production is constantly monitored and the switch on of some appliances is scheduled during peak production times, facilitating the self-consumption of the energy produced.
Electrical Load Management
With data on consumption of household appliances and total domestic electric consumption available, it is possible to manage a logic that automatically releases the appliances according to a settable priority in order to limit the power consumed, keeping it underneath contractual agreement, and avoiding the switch off of the electrical meter. When getting back below the threshold, appliances are automatically powered and ready for use. In presence of a photovoltaic system with battery storage, or UPS, it is possible to manage a parallel logic that, in absence of voltage in the energy network, constantly monitors the residual change left on batteries releasing the loads gradually according to the actual charge, while at the same time keeping active some light spots performing the action of emergency lights.
Security System and CCTVs
The Home Automation System is interfaced with the alarm system and CCTVs. In this way, it is possible to arm and disarm the burglar alarm (totally or partially), and instantly check the status of all sensors connected to the alarm central unit, directly from the supervision feature of the system and, moreover, you can manage some logics connected to other areas (electrical system) in case of events generated by the security system central unit.
IP-based cameras are used for video surveillance and they can be installed either outside or inside the house. External cameras have an adjustable optic (Speed Dome) with a motion detection (Motion Detect) function to avoid false alarms due to external detectors of the security system. All video streams are recorded and available to be checked from the supervision feature even from remote so you can check what happens inside you home anytime.
Motorized Systems and Automations
The Home Automation System can manage all the automations such as gates, sectional garage doors or overhead doors, blinds, shutters and awnings. The command of these automations can be moved or brought to any room at any time, with no need to change the existing electrical cables disposition, with the possibility to add new centralized commands in order to perform the opening and closure of all shutters, when these are motorized.
Monitoring the weather conditions with a weather station, the system automatically performs some actions, such as the automatic closing of shutters and awnings in case of strong wind and rain.
Through the use of advanced logics, it is possible to implement an access control adjusted for time slots to allow users entrance.
The motorization of retractable household appliances such as TVs, projection screens etc. can also be managed in case an event that requires their use comes up, for instance when switching on the video projector, the up-and-down screen motion is automatically activated.
Video-Intercom System
The video-intercoms used are VoIP (Voice over IP) type, and they are directly connected to the local LAN network. This way you can answer to an intercom call directly from the supervision feature of the touchscreen panel of your Home Automation System or from the smartphone or tablet if you are away from home.
Scenarios
With a Home Automation System you are enabled to use “Scenarios”, which means a sequence of actions carried out automatically by pressing a single button or activated directly from the tablet.
Here are some examples:
– “Going Out” Scenario: the possibility to switch off all the lights (or some of them), close the shutters (if motorized), arm the security system and lower the setpoint of the heating system;
– “Coming In” Scenario: the possibility to turn on all the lights (or some of them), open the shutters (if motorized), disarm the security system, raise the setpoint of the heating system, switch-on the sound system, etc.;
– “Garden Watering” Scenario: an automatic cycle is created in order to manage the opening and closing of solenoid valves, scheduling watering time for every single zone, and if rain or bad weather is forecasted, stopping the watering execution.
These are just some examples, an unmeasurable number of different scenarios can be setup.
